Human Trafficking & the Healthcare Provider - Presentation and Discussion

The Lambda Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing welcomes guest speaker, Lori Hardie, MSN, RNC, NPD-BC, CHSE to the stage to present information related to human trafficking and the role healthcare providers play in recognizing and supporting this vulnerable population. Questions and discussion are welcome after the presentation.

This presentation offers both LP credit for UIndy students and CE credit for active healthcare providers. Directions about how to obtain CE credit will be offered at the end of the presentation. For those wishing to receive LP credit, UIndy monitors will be checking attendance throughout the event.

Speaker Biography:

Lori Hardie, MSN, RNC, NPD-BC, CHSE earned her BSN from Indiana University in 1995 and completed her MSN at Ball State University in 2018. Lori has been a certified Simulationist since 2017 and manages the Franciscan Health Simulation Center in Central Indianapolis. Lori is a 2018 NLN Sim leaders alumni and is multi-published in simulation topics, most notably co-authoring the new Professional Development Standard (in press) from the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL).

As a nurse, trauma survivor, and women and children's health advocate, Lori is pursuing a DNP in Health Policy through The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Informed from her unique perspective, Lori strives to improve communities and create trauma-informed healthcare systems that serve as a safe harbor for patients, while respecting the unique choices and autonomy of all individuals.
